Best known as the drummer and founding member of the Beach Boys, Dennis Wilson was born in 1944. Ironically the only surfer in the band, Wilson spearheaded the Beach Boys, who rose to fame in 1961. In 1977 he released a solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue, which won him wide critical acclaim. He passed away in 1983.
